Since the U.N., proposed the criminalization of sexualized or suggestive imagery of “underage” fictional characters – a proposal that many saw as a direct attack on anime and manga – there has been a steady escalation of censorship on loli and shota imagery. Many of the bans have been advocated for and encouraged by Social Justice Warriors. One such individual is Twitter user Julian, who made the following post on March 1st, 2019. The first half of the post starts with Julian writing… “A thread detailing my past actions has surfaced today, things that I have been running from for almost 2 years, and now I’m writing this to give you the truth. I’m sorry, but yes. “First thing to address, yes I am guilty of having sent unsolicited nsfw pictures of myself to a minor. This was in 2014, and I had an extremely unhealthy mindset that my actions online didn’t really matter, and that I could do whatever I wanted to. This was the last time I had ever done something like this, but things unfortunately do not get better from here. [...] This has been common behavior from the Social Justice branch of those who engage in identity politics across social media. We’ve seen it so often in the recent past, where people like Shane Butler, an indie developer who criticized and attacked TotalBiscuit for supporting #GamerGate, turned out to be a child pornographer. There was also the former NeoGaf moderator, Christopher Goldberg, who was vehemently anti-#GamerGate, publicly derided anime fans, and was also heavily involved in collecting child pornography. Goldberg was arrested and sentenced to two years in prison. Matt Hickey, a former games and tech journalist, was also against #GamerGate, and penned a piece criticizing Microsoft for hiring go-go dancers at an after party during the Game Developers Conference. Matt Hickey considered himself a male feminist. However, for over a decade he had been drugging and raping women. Matt Hickey was sentenced to three years in prison. Julian hasn’t been arrested yet, but explains in the Twitlonger post how after doing what he did he decided to embrace Social Justice in order to create a “safe” and “positive” place for people, writing…"
