https://www.facebook.com/mikhail.svetov/posts/10157552648410510?pnref=story "I’ve been involved in Russian opposition politics for over 10 years. I saw elections being rigged, had my phone wiretapped and had Russian MP put me on the list of the top 11 online “extremists” in the letter to the prosecutor general of Russia. My friends were beaten up, shot at and maimed for simply holding the wrong opinion. Dozens were forced to leave the country. I'm the most anti-Putin person you’ll ever meet. And I want to warn you against Hillary Clinton. If you look past the media spin, you’ll notice that Hillary, not Trump, shares a disturbing similarity to Putin. Hillary, like Putin, is secretive and paranoid. Like Putin, she is ruthless, calculating and has an uncanny genius for intrigue. Like Putin, she made herself integral to the status quo — a common tactic among all budding authoritarians. She places personal loyalty over integrity and exhibits deep disdain for the press simultaneously wielding control over it. You think Hillary’s not holding a press conference for over 300 days is bad? Putin didn’t have an unscripted interview in over 10 years. If Hillary’s elected president, you better get used to it. This is how it’s started in Russia too. She’s obsessed with war and clearly prioritises international adventurism over domestic affairs. Like Putin, she’s a champion of the special interests and relies on their support for political power. Just like Putin she made a fortune through politics. And then there’s Trump. An imperfect candidate but one that can’t be more different from what dictators are actually like. Unlike Putin or Hillary, Trump is an unabashedly public figure. He’s a businessman, Putin never had a job in a private sector. Trump is comfortable in his own skin, Putin is terrified of appearing silly (just like Hillary). Trump has zero support among the establishment, Putin is supported across the aisle. Trump’s whole life, business and family been in the public eye forever. And yet the only thing that media found against him after 6 months of unprecedentedly hostile vetting is that he's vulgar? How is that in the same league with violating a subpoena or having a mole in the CNN provide debate questions in advance? How is it in the same league with running an illegal server for classified correspondence? How is it in the same league as colluding with the FBI? With lying under oath? All the things that Putin done by the way. If this somehow doesn’t sway your opinion, maybe this will: media hates Trump. If he becomes the next president, you bet the press will hold him accountable. In your heart you know that won’t be the case for Hillary Clinton. In your heart you know that if she’s elected president, the fourth estate will be further hollowed out until its carcass is indistinguishable from “Pravda”. The reason I’m writing this is I’m scared of the Hillary’s presidency. Her “Russian reset” encouraged Putin to invade Ukraine that in turn empowered him to crack down on the opposition within Russia. Because of Hillary’s policies, thousands died in Ukraine. Thousands die in Syria. Libya. Yemen. Iraq. I’m terrified that the US is ceasing to be the shining beacon of hope. That we lose you as an example. Peace only comes when America is strong. The world needs you to be strong. Hillary Clinton is a threat to the great American experiment. Don’t let her win."

http://www.withurwe.com/ "Centuries hence, Man, seemingly alone in the universe, slowly spreads his civilizations across his corner of the galaxy. Tyrants vie for power, and in their fierce grip the colonies of the Milky Way are suffocating. In this society of many billions, a young marine, a highly trained war hero, returns home from his tour of duty. Physically powerful yet shy, awkward and unable to sway the masses with pretty speeches, Alistair Ashley 3nn makes a decision to strike at the hierarchy the only way he can. His decision starts him on a grand adventure, and as he is carried along by forces beyond his control, he comes to confront an ancient secret, one which may reveal Humanity’s future. "

А что если миром правят не жыдорептилоиды, а жыдодельфиноиды? http://www.theguardian.com/science/2003/jul/03/research.science "At the Institute for Marine Mammal Studies in Mississippi, Kelly the dolphin has built up quite a reputation. All the dolphins at the institute are trained to hold onto any litter that falls into their pools until they see a trainer, when they can trade the litter for fish. In this way, the dolphins help to keep their pools clean. Kelly has taken this task one step further. When people drop paper into the water she hides it under a rock at the bottom of the pool. The next time a trainer passes, she goes down to the rock and tears off a piece of paper to give to the trainer. After a fish reward, she goes back down, tears off another piece of paper, gets another fish, and so on. This behaviour is interesting because it shows that Kelly has a sense of the future and delays gratification. She has realised that a big piece of paper gets the same reward as a small piece and so delivers only small pieces to keep the extra food coming. She has, in effect, trained the humans. Her cunning has not stopped there. One day, when a gull flew into her pool, she grabbed it, waited for the trainers and then gave it to them. It was a large bird and so the trainers gave her lots of fish. This seemed to give Kelly a new idea. The next time she was fed, instead of eating the last fish, she took it to the bottom of the pool and hid it under the rock where she had been hiding the paper. When no trainers were present, she brought the fish to the surface and used it to lure the gulls, which she would catch to get even more fish. After mastering this lucrative strategy, she taught her calf, who taught other calves, and so gull-baiting has become a hot game among the dolphins."

https://c4ss.org/content/38464 "Let’s get something out of the way at the start: the state — even if it should exist — should not be involved in marriage. But libertarians who think that this is all that need be said are wrong. To see this, imagine that the government declared that blacks could not use the interstate highways. Would it be enough for libertarians to say that the government should not own and operate highways, remaining agnostic on the particular policy? Of course not, because that’s not all there is to the matter. Libertarians should say that as long as the government does own and operate highways, it must not discriminate irrationally or invidiously in their use. Why is that a proper libertarian position? It is so because libertarians, pending abolition of the state, should want to limit as far as possible its power to commit injustice, to mistreat people or deprive them of their dignity. One way to do that is to eliminate or at least restrict its power to discriminate irrationally or invidiously. Government should not have the power to issue marriage licenses, but when it exercises that power, it should not be free to deny them to gay and lesbian couples. On what libertarian grounds should same-sex couples be turned away from the licensing bureau? As Steve Horwitz writes: “Classical-liberal principles require the State to treat all citizens as equal before the law.” This, he notes, has been one of the aims of liberal movements from time immemorial. Horwitz writes: [...] It does not follow, as some libertarians suggest, that under the equality principle, laws that burden one group ought apply to all. The principle is equal protection. If the government imposed conscription on men, it would be unlibertarian to demand that women also be drafted in the name of equality under the law. On the contrary, that principle would be grounds for demanding abolition of conscription. I’ve seen it argued that if marriage consisted merely in “negative rights” — rights, that is, against aggression — a libertarian could have no objection to legalization of same-sex marriage. But, the argument goes, since contemporary marriage entails “positive rights” as well — that is, (alleged) “rights” to government-provided benefits — a libertarian should object to extending this tainted institution to more people. That argument seems plausible at first, but I believe it crumbles on closer scrutiny. [...] Let’s take an example, the federal Family and Medical Leave Act, which requires employers to provide job-protected though unpaid leave for qualified reasons. (Some states have similar laws.) Since passage of the law in 1993, FMLA benefits have been extended by the courts to same-sex couples who married in a state that recognizes that status. Now it is true that mandated family and medical leave coercively imposes costs on employers (and ultimately employees) and therefore cannot pass libertarian muster. It is also true that with this latest Supreme Court decision, FMLA benefits will now apply to more people. But contrary to some libertarians, that is no reason to condemn the Supreme Court’s decision. Rather, it’s simply a reason to work for the repeal of the FMLA. Allowing the prohibition of SSM in order to prevent expansion of the FMLA is a little like bombing a village full of innocents to kill a criminal. To avoid one harm, a great deal more harm would be done. And note: it is not married couples who compel employers to provide leave, even if they take advantage of the law. The state is the aggressor. Let’s go after it and its impositions directly. Discriminating against same-sex couples does nothing to end those impositions. It simply declares that the benefits are for heterosexual couples only."

http://ateneojspconference.blogspot.ru/2014/06/15th-annual-international-conference-on.html?spref=tw "CALL FOR PAPERS 15th Annual International Conference on Japanese Studies & the 6th Women’s Manga Conference A Joint International Conference by Ateneo de Manila University, Japanese Studies Program with the support of the Japan Foundation, Manila Office and Women’s MANGA Research Project (JSPS KAKENHI Grant Number 24320047) Manga and the Manga-esque: New Perspectives to a Global Culture DATES: 22-25 January, 2015 VENUE: Ateneo de Manila University, Manila OVERVIEW: In the recent years, academic scholarship towards popular culture has been increasing. But why study Manga? Like all forms of popular culture, the consumption of such can produce social norms, establish social boundaries, and create rituals that generate social solidarity, generate innovation, and pave the way for social change, becoming a powerful and oft ignored media. The Japanese Government has realized this potential and has been using manga and anime as part of its soft power diplomacy. Recently, South Korea has been doing the same with K-pop and K-drama. Furthermore, the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs has begun a campaign using Filipino komiks and animation. But none of these media have the same influence as manga. Manga, a Japanese term, which has now been accepted not only to refer to the comics published in Japan, but to also refer to works published in the various localities which derive their inspiration from that coming from Japan. While there have been several conferences and scholarship dealing with the topic of manga, the literature is quite divided between the lines of Western-based and Japanese-based scholarship. The Philippines becomes an interesting setting for a conference on manga, with its hybridized culture. The conference will not only provide fresh perspectives towards the study of manga, but will include studies of the manga-esque. The study of the manga-esque not only provides a peek towards Japan's influence to the local culture, but also provides a peak towards the cultural negotiations of their creators to their local culture. The proposed conference would invite distinguished manga scholars from Japan and the world, which will then provide fresh perspectives in studying manga as a global culture"

https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/response/response-we-people-petition-nadiya-savchenko "Use all legal means to free ukrainian soldier Nadiya Savchenko, who is a political prisoner of the Kremlin regime. Response to We the People Petition on Nadiya Savchenko The United States has repeatedly called for the release of Ukrainian pilot Nadiya Savchenko, most recently on November 12, in remarks delivered at the United Nations by U.S. Ambassador Samantha Power. Russia and the separatist proxies it supports committed to 12 points when they signed the Minsk Protocol on September 5. In Point 5 of the Protocol, Russia agreed to immediately free all hostages and illegally held persons. Yet Russia and the separatists it backs continue to hold at least 500 hostages. They include Savchenko, as well as Ukrainian film director Oleg Sentsov, both of whom were captured by separatists on Ukrainian soil and illegally transported against their will to Russia. We once again call on Russia to release Savchenko, and all hostages and illegally held persons, as well as to fulfill all of the commitments it and the separatists it backs signed up to in Minsk. We have repeatedly made it clear that President Putin has a choice. If he is willing to find a lasting settlement to the conflict in Ukraine within the context of the Minsk agreements and without setting unreasonable conditions, sanctions could be rolled back. If Russia continues to flout its commitments and continue its dangerous and destabilizing actions, then the costs to Russia will continue to rise."

Пришла к успеху: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1841801090/fallen-vol-1-graphic-novel-by-ogawa-burukku http://www.inkblazers.com/manga-and-comics/FaLLEN/detail-page/2409?lang=en http://www.inkblazers.com/blogs/Interview-FaLLEN-by-Ogawa-Burukku/detail-page/7443 https://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=104233 > Well, originally I wanted to do storyboarding for Disney’s Feature Animation division, and I was in fact all setup to jump right in after I graduated from SCAD, but I think it was around 2003 when the company dropped their 2D department in favor of doing lousy CG movies. I was not (and still am not) a fan of totally CG animated movies, and since at the time the whole industry was going belly-up as animation studios closed their doors and others quickly tried to master 3D lighting, I decided to go another route. In 2004 I moved to Japan and started attending a school for making manga, because all I wanted to do was tell stories with sequential art. This was just another way to do that without the end result being poopy CG puppets. > When I went to other publishers, people kept telling me I was too old… at 26. Japan likes young artists they can mold, and I have actually found that the better I get, the less interested editors have become. When I was younger and terrible, I had several bites. Now that I’m exponentially better at what I do, people tell me I’m great but don’t seem interested in giving me jobs. The fact that I’m a foreigner doesn’t help. The feedback I’ve gotten from editors (I’d say I’ve been to about 30 since coming to Japan) has always been mixed, but most guys I’ve met with have been pretty young and it doesn’t seem they have any idea what they are talking about. When I asked one guy if there was anything I could work on, he told me “Practice drawing every day.” Clearly, I’m not a beginner. Clearly I’ve been doing this for a while. But he wasn’t equipped to handle more advanced artists, and that was the best advice he could give.

Методички хамасовцев: http://www.memri.org/report/en/0/0/0/0/0/0/8076.htm
Following are excerpts from the guidelines:
"Anyone killed or martyred is to be called a civilian from Gaza or Palestine, before we talk about his status in jihad or his military rank. Don't forget to always add 'innocent civilian' or 'innocent citizen' in your description of those killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza.
"Begin [your reports of] news of resistance actions with the phrase 'In response to the cruel Israeli attack,' and conclude with the phrase 'This many people have been martyred since Israel launched its aggression against Gaza.' Be sure to always perpetuate the principle of 'the role of the occupation is attack, and we in Palestine are fulfilling [the role of] the reaction.'
"Beware of spreading rumors from Israeli spokesmen, particularly those that harm the home front. Be wary regarding accepting the occupation's version [of events]. You must always cast doubts on this [version], disprove it, and treat it as false.
"Avoid publishing pictures of rockets fired into Israel from [Gaza] city centers. This [would] provide a pretext for attacking residential areas in the Gaza Strip. Do not publish or share photos or video clips showing rocket launching sites or the movement of resistance [forces] in Gaza.
"To the administrators of news pages on Facebook: Do not publish close-ups of masked men with heavy weapons, so that your page will not be shut down [by Facebook] on the claim that you are inciting violence. In your coverage, be sure that you say: 'The locally manufactured shells fired by the resistance are a natural response to the Israeli occupation that deliberately fires rockets against civilians in the West Bank and Gaza'..."
Additionally, the interior ministry prepared a series of suggestions specifically for Palestinian activists who speak to Westerners via social media. The ministry emphasizes that conversations with them should be conducted differently from conversations with other Arabs. It stated:
"When speaking to the West, you must use political, rational, and persuasive discourse, and avoid emotional discourse aimed at begging for sympathy. There are elements with a conscience in the world; you must maintain contact with them and activate them for the benefit of Palestine. Their role is to shame the occupation and expose its violations.
"Avoid entering into a political argument with a Westerner aimed at convincing him that the Holocaust is a lie and deceit; instead, equate it with Israel's crimes against Palestinian civilians.
"The narrative of life vs. the narrative of blood: [When speaking] to an Arab friend, start with the number of martyrs. [But when speaking] to a Western friend, start with the number of wounded and dead. Be sure to humanize the Palestinian suffering. Try to paint a picture of the suffering of the civilians in Gaza and the West Bank during the occupation's operations and its bombings of cities and villages.
"Do not publish photos of military commanders. Do not mention their names in public, and do not praise their achievements in conversations with foreign friends!"

Аниме убивает: http://www.sankakucomplex.com/2014/04/20/a-1-pictures-killed-animator-with-600-hour-month/
Police have confirmed that A-1 Pictures worked one of their animators to death, ruling that being made to work hundreds of hours of overtime a month drove him to suicide.
The case centres on a man, 28 at the time of his death in 2010, employed on as a full-time animator at A-1 Pictures from 2006 to the end of 2009.
In 2010 the man quit his job after suffering severe depression, having been denied a transfer after his health collapsed, and later in the year committed suicide, prompting his bereaved family to retain a lawyer and pursue his former employer as being directly liable in a case of “karoushi” – death through overwork.
For some reason A-1 Pictures kept no record of the hours employees actually worked, but hospital records included the revelation that he “worked 600 hours in a month,” and Shinjuku police in charge of enforcing labour regulations confirmed that in the months prior to his diagnosis with depression he worked over 100 hours of overtime each month.
The family’s lawyer claims the reality was significantly worse, saying online posts he left suggest he started suffering from depression in 2008 and had to work from 134 to 344 hours of overtime in the months leading up to his departure."
