The Fascist movement in the US is too strong for mere civility to make it wither away. That will require defeats, such as the one it experienced on Wednesday. We can't expect overconfidence and naive exuberance to give it more defeats. The government must take steps to ensure they happen. Passing and enforcing laws requiring everyone to wear a mask (or show a doctor's excuse) in most public places could help.
